Amnon's rape of Tamar and Absalom's premeditated revenge on his half-brother have caused an irreconcilable fracture between David and his beloved son. With no resolution in sight, the king and the prince remain alienated from each other. A noble attempt to reconcile father and son demonstrates that only God possesses the means to remedy the brokenness of a fallen world.
